Job summary

Crossmuller, an Australian-owned manufacturing and automation specialist, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the Somersby facility. You will support the scoping, design, installation and commissioning of production processing machinery, and collaborate with management, contractors and production teams.

This role emphasizes safety, quality and continuous improvement, with a compressed four-day week (Mon-Thu, 6:00–16:00).

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering Degree or related engineering degree.
• At least two years’ engineering experience.

About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team based at our Somersby, NSW manufacturing facility.

This role will provide mechanical engineering support across the scoping, design, installation and commissioning of engineering projects involving production processing machinery. You will be responsible for:

• Designing mechanical equipment, machinery, components, plant and systems


• Providing engineering input into the installation, assembly, maintenance and commissioning of machinery


• Reviewing drawings, specifications, materials and equipment


• Coordinating project labour, materials, plant and equipment


• Liaising with management, contractors, consultants, suppliers and production teams


• Investigating and assisting with engineering and technical issues


• Preparing project plans addressing safety, quality and environmental requirements


• Monitoring project risks, costs, progress and resource requirements


• Supporting continuous improvement and efficient use of people and equipment


• Participating in risk assessments, hazard identification and toolbox meetings

This is a full-time position, with a compressed working week of Monday to Thursday (6:00am-4:00pm). Salary for this position will be not less than $79,499 per annum.

About you

• Mechanical Engineering Degree or other related engineering degree
