Job summary

Diesel Care in Toowoomba is seeking a dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. You will service and repair diesel vehicles, diagnose fuel injection systems and perform routine maintenance to keep engines running smoothly.

You will use diagnostic tools and dynamometers to improve performance, maintain detailed service records and work closely with colleagues to ensure high standards of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Qualified automotive mechanic with a relevant trade certificate.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic aptitude.
• Knowledge of automotive fitting principles and auto electrics.
• Willingness to learn and work in a productive team environment.
• Reliable, punctual, honest and well presented.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair various diesel vehicles to keep them running efficiently.
• Diagnose and fix diesel fuel injection systems, pumps and injectors.
• Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, filters, inspections.
• Use tools and software to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Operate dynamometers to assess performance and implement improvements.
• Maintain accurate service logs and records for each vehicle.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure tasks are completed and customers are satisfied.
• Keep the workshop clean, organized and safe.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Service and Repair: Work on various diesel vehicles to ensure they operate efficiently

Fuel System Maintenance: Diagnose and fix issues with diesel fuel injection systems, such as pumps and injectors.

Routine Maintenance: Perform regular tasks like oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks to keep engines running smoothly.

Diagnostics: Use tools and software to identify and resolve mechanical and electronic problems.

Performance: Operate dynamometers to assess and improve vehicle performance and make necessary adjustments to boost vehicle capabilities.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of services performed and parts used for each vehicle.

Team Collaboration: Work with colleagues to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and customers are satisfied.

Workplace Maintenance: Keep the workshop clean, organized, and safe by following proper procedures.

We are looking for someone who

is a qualified automotive mechanic and has excellent mechanical/diagnostic aptitude
