Job summary

Fitta Diesel Services PTY LTD in Yatala, Queensland is seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair heavy road transport vehicles. This casual position includes a 3‑month probation, after which a full-time role is offered.

You will diagnose, repair and service diesel engines and related systems, document work and parts used, and provide advice to customers while upholding safety standards and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
• Proficient with diesel engines and related systems
• Valid HR driver’s licence or willing to obtain
• Excellent communication and teamwork

Job description

Fitta Diesel Services PTY LTD' is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Yatala, Queensland. As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair of Heavy Road transport vehicles. This is a casual position with 3 months probation, with us then offering a full time role.

What you'll be doing

Conducting diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on diesel engines and related components

Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

Performing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance tasks

Ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards and in compliance with safety regulations

Maintaining detailed records of work completed and parts used

Providing technical advice and support to customers as required

What we're looking for

Extensive experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, with a proven track record of successfully maintaining and repairing on road transport equipment.

Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and rectify complex issues

Proficient in the use of a range of tools, equipment and diagnostic software

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality work

A holder of a valid HR driver's licence or willing to obtain prior to employment

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
