Job summary

CSR seeks an experienced Materials Manager to oversee material planning, inventory management and supplier performance at the Villawood site. You will ensure timely availability of raw materials to support production plans and optimise stock levels.

Reporting to Manufacturing Manager, you will collaborate with procurement, logistics and operations to maintain efficient supply chain operations, manage risks, and drive improvements while upholding safety and CSR’s Zero Harm culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in materials management within manufacturing or related industries.
• Strong planning, analysis, and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems and Excel for inventory planning.

Responsibilities

• Manage raw material planning and scheduling to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimising costs and obsolescence.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships to ensure quality and service performance.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, production and operations to meet requirements.
• Monitor inventory performance through forecasting, audits and demand planning.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks including shortages, delays and quality issues.
• Maintain material master data and inventory records within SAP.
• Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, waste reduction, and performance.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Champion CSR's Zero Harm culture and workplace safety commitments

We are looking for an experienced Materials Manager to oversee material planning, inventory management, and supplier performance at our Villawood site, playing a pivotal role in keeping our manufacturing operations running efficiently and effectively.

About The Role

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw materials to support production plans, optimise inventory levels, manage supplier performance, and minimise operational risk.

You will work closely with procurement, logistics, manufacturing, and inventory teams to maintain efficient supply chain operations and support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage raw material planning and scheduling to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimising costs and stock obsolescence.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and service performance.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, production, and operations teams to deliver production requirements.
• Monitor inventory performance through forecasting, audits, and demand planning activities.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks, including material shortages, delays, and quality issues.
• Manage and maintain accurate material master data and inventory records within SAP.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Champion CSR's Zero Harm culture and commitment to workplace safety

• Proven experience in a Materials Management, Inventory Management, Production Planning, or Supply Chain role within manufacturing, construction products, or a related industry.
• Strong understanding of materials planning, inventory control, and production scheduling.
• Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems – essential
• Proficient in using Excel to support inventory management, production planning, and data-driven decision-making.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing inventory-related costs.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies. - advantageous
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a dynamic operational environment.
• A proactive, hands-on approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
