Job summary

CSR Springboard is seeking a Materials Manager at our Villawood site to lead material planning, inventory management and supplier performance. You will ensure timely availability of raw materials, optimise stock levels and collaborate across procurement, logistics, and production to support manufacturing goals.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, continuous improvement, and strong stakeholder engagement to sustain efficient operations and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Materials Management or Supply Chain within manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with SAP/ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Manage raw material planning and scheduling to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimising costs and obsolescence.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability and service performance.
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, production and operations teams to meet production requirements.
  • Monitor inventory performance through forecasting, audits and demand planning.
  • Identify and mitigate supply risks, including shortages, delays and quality issues.
  • Maintain material master data and inventory records in SAP.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and waste reduction.
  • Champion CSR's Zero Harm culture and safety commitments.

We are looking for an experienced Materials Manager to oversee material planning, inventory management, and supplier performance at our Villawood site, playing a pivotal role in keeping our manufacturing operations running efficiently and effectively.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw materials to support production plans, optimise inventory levels, manage supplier performance, and minimise operational risk. You will work closely with procurement, logistics, manufacturing, and inventory teams to maintain efficient supply chain operations and support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage raw material planning and scheduling to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimising costs and stock obsolescence.

  • Proven experience in a Materials Management, Inventory Management, Production Planning, or Supply Chain role within manufacturing, construction products, or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of materials planning, inventory control, and production scheduling.
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems – essential
  • Proficient in using Excel to support inventory management, production planning, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing inventory-related costs.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies. - advantageous
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a dynamic operational environment.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
