Job summary

CSR Limited in Springvale, VIC is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to lead end-to-end operations on the site, driving safety, quality, productivity and cost performance across multiple shifts.

You will champion Zero Harm, implement World Class Manufacturing and Lean practices, develop leadership teams, manage budgets and CapEx, and ensure SAP reporting to support site performance. This hands-on role offers strong stakeholder engagement and a pathway to advance CSR's manufacturing journey.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading manufacturing, production or plant operations.
• Strong Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
• Proven leadership in unionised or complex manufacturing environments.
• Experience managing budgets, cost centres and site performance.
• SAP experience will be highly regarded.
• Engineering qualification advantageous but not essential.

• Drive operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity.
• Lead the implementation and sustainability of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and Lean Manufacturing practices.
• Develop and coach site leadership teams to build accountability, capability and engagement.
• Manage production planning, labour utilisation and operational performance.
• Partner closely with maintenance teams to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
• Oversee site compliance, including Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations.
• Manage operational budgets, cost controls and capital expenditure projects.
• Foster positive industrial relations and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
• Ensure accurate production reporting and system compliance through SAP.

Manufacturing Manager

We're seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead operations at our Springvale site. This is an exceptional opportunity for a hands‑on operational leader to maintain a strong culture of safety, quality and engagement while advancing our World Class Manufacturing (WCM) journey.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take ownership of the site's end-to-end manufacturing operations, leading production, maintenance coordination, logistics compliance, cost management and continuous improvement activities.

The Springvale facility is a well-established manufacturing site producing cement roof tiles in a highly engaged and collaborative environment. You'll lead a team of supervisors and support functions while driving operational excellence across safety, quality, productivity and cost performance.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a strong presence on the floor and the ability to engage effectively with frontline teams across multiple shifts.

About You

You are an experienced manufacturing leader who thrives in a hands‑on environment and enjoys developing high-performing teams.

You will bring:

• Significant experience leading manufacturing, production or plant operations.
• Strong Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
• Demonstrated success implementing operational improvement initiatives and driving measurable results.
• Proven leadership capability in unionised or complex manufacturing environments.
• Strong safety leadership and commitment to creating high-performing safety cultures.
• Experience managing budgets, cost centres and site performance.
• Exposure to maintenance planning and equipment reliability programs.
• Understanding of logistics and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
• Capital project (CapEx) experience.
• SAP experience will be highly regarded.
• An engineering qualification or relevant diploma is advantageous but not essential.
