You will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality and Engineering teams to improve safety, quality, productivity and reliability while supporting Villawood's vision of becoming a World Class Manufacturing (WCM) facility.

This is a hands-on role that combines process engineering, continuous improvement and project delivery, offering the opportunity to make a tangible impact on manufacturing performance and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse production processes and operational data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead process improvement projects that deliver measurable gains in efficiency, reliability and product quality.
  • Support Villawood's World Class Manufacturing (WCM) journey by embedding Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

  • Monitor operational KPIs and provide insights to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Standardise and sustain improvements through documentation, training and ongoing performance review.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, compliance and environmental performance.
About You

We're looking for an engineer who combines strong manufacturing experience with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

You will bring:
  • Degree qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechatronics or related discipline).
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial processing or production environment.
  • Strong process improvement capability with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Experience analysing production data and using metrics to identify and prioritise improvement opportunities.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, including Root Cause Analysis and structured continuous improvement techniques.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence teams and drive sustainable change in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
Highly Regarded
  • Experience with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) frameworks.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, equipment upgrades or manufacturing optimisation programs.
  • Exposure to data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, SAP or Minitab.
  • Experience within continuous manufacturing, textiles, building products or related industries.

You will be a practical, hands-on engineer who enjoys working closely with manufacturing teams to solve problems, improve processes and deliver measurable results.
