Job summary

Department of Transport & Planning Victoria in Melbourne is seeking to backfill a role coordinating training for the State Response Team (SRT) and managing a Microsoft-based database for rapid activation of marine emergency response capabilities.

The position involves liaising with contractors, establishing doctrine for rapid deployment, and delivering projects to strengthen preparedness and response across Victoria.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline would be well regarded.
• Experience working in a marine environment and understanding of field environment is desirable.
• Technical understanding of marine infrastructure, including pollution assets and management is desirable.
• Certificate IV or demonstrated experience in coordination/development of training and exercise programs, preferably in a maritime environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate training and capability development for Victoria's State Response Team (SRT).
• Liaise with DTP contractors to ensure response equipment is strategically located and maintained.
• Deliver projects that strengthen operational preparedness and response capability.

Education

Tertiary qualification in related discipline (desirable)

Experience in marine environment (desirable)

Technical understanding of marine infrastructure and pollution assets (desirable)

Certificate IV or coord/training program development experience (desirable)
