Job summary

SeaLink WA in Perth seeks a Marine Manager to lead a highly experienced marine team, overseeing operations, vessel maintenance, safety, compliance and crew leadership for Transperth ferries. You will collaborate with key stakeholders, including PTA, to deliver a reliable, safe and customer-focused service.

With Perth’s transition to electric ferries, you will shape fleet readiness, planning and implementation, while driving continuous improvement and responsible budgeting.

Qualifications

• Master V and MED 2 qualifications are essential.
• Mechanical knowledge with practical maintenance experience.
• Senior First Aid qualification desirable.
• Solid understanding of AMSA legislation and marine regulatory compliance.
• Experience using maintenance management systems and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead marine operations, crew management and roster planning.
• Ensure safe, reliable and on-time ferry services.
• Oversee vessel maintenance programs, surveys and AMSA compliance.
• Drive proactive maintenance strategies to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Manage operational budgets and financial performance.
• Build strong relationships with PTA, contractors and regulators.
• Lead safety initiatives, risk management and continuous improvement.
• Deliver contractual obligations with exceptional customer service.
• Support the introduction and operation of Perth's new electric ferry fleet.
• Measure success by safe, reliable services and a high-performing team.
