Job summary

SeaLink WA is seeking Deckhands for full-time 6-month contracts (Oct–Apr) or casual terms (Nov–Jan) across Perth/Fremantle. Roles include shifts up to 12 hours, with penalties after 7pm and weekends, plus standard leave and training benefits.

Applicants should have GPH/STCW or at least 6 months vessel experience plus RSA and First Aid, and access to transport for Fremantle services. Responsibilities include assisting safe vessel operations, customer service, mooring, and routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must be well presented and keen to provide a brilliant customer experience.
• Must be safety focused and able to perform cleaning and maintenance duties as required.
• Six months vessel experience plus RSA and First Aid or GPH/STCW qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with safe daily vessel operations following SeaLink WA policies.
• Prevent unsafe incidents and display a pleasant, helpful manner to customers.
• Ensure high standards of customer service at all times.
• Assist with boarding/disembarkation of passengers.
• Work under the Master to maintain safe marine operations.
• Participate in mooring activities and deck equipment handling.
• Maintain vessel cleanliness and perform routine maintenance.
• Deliver on-board kiosk beverage sales in line with responsible service guidelines.
• Participate in scheduled emergency drills.
