Job summary

Austral Fisheries seeks an experienced marine technical professional to join the Southern Ocean Fleet team in Perth. The role supports maintenance, reliability, compliance and provisioning, both remotely and during international vessel port calls and layup periods.

It offers exposure to advanced vessels, international logistics and complex marine operations, with potential to coordinate technical operations and oversee maintenance activities across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial vessels or offshore vessels
• Strong understanding of marine electrical, automation and integrated vessel systems
• Ability to troubleshoot and coordinate technical issues independently
• Strong organisational and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day technical management of the Southern Ocean fleet
• Assist in coordinating contractors and suppliers to ensure timely completion of works
• Provide technical support to vessel crews operating remotely at sea
• Attend international vessel port calls and shipyard periods as required
• Assist with fault finding across mechanical, hydraulic, refrigeration, electrical and electronic systems
• Manage procurement and shipping of vessel spare parts internationally
• Promote safety and compliance culture across operations
• Support technical projects and fleet improvement initiatives
