Job summary

SLR Consulting is an international environmental consultancy and is seeking an experienced Marine Approvals Specialist to join our Perth team. The role covers marine, port developments and major infrastructure, shaping and leading growth of SLR’s marine approvals capabilities.

The candidate will bring a degree in environmental sciences and 8+ years of consulting experience, with strong knowledge of WA Part IV/V approvals and EPBC referrals, and will manage client relationships, budgets and

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Ecology, or related field.
• 8+ years' environmental consulting experience across government and private sectors.
• Strong knowledge of WA Part IV and Part V approvals.
• Experience with EPBC Act referrals and assessments, and marine/coastal/port projects.
• Experience leading environmental impact assessments and coordinating technical studies.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent report writing and communication abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and business development capability.

Responsibilities

• Leading marine projects through all stages from concept to implementation.
• Provide advice on Part IV, Part V and EPBC approval pathways and strategy.
• Manage environmental assessments for marine, port and coastal developments.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, technical specialists and subcontractors.
• Prepare and review environmental impact assessment and regulatory approval documentation.
• Manage client relationships, project budgets, milestone tracking, and deliverables.
• Liaise with regulators, government agencies and project stakeholders.
• Support business development, proposals and growth of the marine and approvals practice.
