Job summary

SLR Consulting Australia Pty Ltd seeks an experienced Marine Approvals Specialist to lead projects in Perth, spanning marine, port and coastal developments. You will guide environmental assessments, manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with regulators to drive approvals.

The role requires 8+ years in environmental consulting, strong leadership, and excellence in report writing and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Ecology, or a related field.
• 8+ years' environmental consulting experience, ideally across government and private-sector projects.
• Strong knowledge of WA Part IV and Part V environmental approvals.
• Proven experience with EPBC Act referrals and assessments.
• Marine, coastal or port development experience required.
• Experience leading environmental impact assessments and coordinating technical studies.
• Strong project management, client and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and business development capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead marine projects through all stages from concept to implementation.
• Advise on Part IV, Part V and EPBC approval pathways and strategy.
• Manage environmental assessments for marine, port and coastal developments.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, technical specialists and subcontractors.
• Prepare and review environmental impact assessment and regulatory documentation.
• Manage client relationships, project budgets, milestones and deliverables.
• Liaise with regulators, government agencies and project stakeholders.
• Support business development and growth of marine approvals capabilities.
