Job summary

Sunshine Coast Council is seeking two experienced Managers’ Assistants for the Urban Growth Projects and Economic Development branches. You will provide high-level administrative support to the Manager, coordinating diaries, meetings and workflows, and act as a central point of contact for the branch.

Ideally you will have confidential‑level administrative experience, strong organisation, proactive problem‑solving, and excellent customer service.

  • Tech-savvy with ability to use a range of systems and software.

  • Provide comprehensive diary, meeting and workflow management for the Manager.
  • Prepare high-quality correspondence, reports, agendas and minutes; follow up actions.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications and maintain accurate electronic records.
  • Support branch operations through administration, HR processes and stakeholder event coordination.

About the Role

Sunshine Coast Council are seeking 2x experienced Manager’s Assistant’s across two key branches. Urban Growth Projects and Economic Development sit within Council’s Sustainable Growth and Planning directorate, and both play a critical role in supporting our Sunshine Coast region. These branches support sustainable growth and community outcomes through strategic planning, infrastructure coordination and economic development initiatives. They work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver integrated transport, stormwater, growth area solutions, attract investment, support industry and create long‑term economic and community benefits, supporting Council’s vision of a connected, liveable and thriving region.

As the Manager’s Assistant, you will provide high‑level, confidential administrative and customer support to the Manager while acting as a central point of contact for the branch. These are dynamic and trusted roles where your organisational skills, judgement and proactive approach directly support leadership effectiveness, service delivery and positive stakeholder outcomes.

Both position’s are based at Sunshine Coast City Hall , in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.

About you

You’re highly organised and thrive in fast‑paced environments, confidently managing competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

You communicate professionally and clearly, building strong relationships and delivering excellent customer service with tact, discretion and confidence.

You bring experience in administrative or office support roles and use initiative, sound judgement and problem‑solving skills to keep things moving smoothly.

You’re tech‑savvy and comfortable using a range of systems and software, with a commitment to confidentiality, continuous improvement and quality outcomes.
