Job summary

Brophy Family & Youth Services is seeking a Manager – Home Based Care to lead our Home Based Care team, delivering foster care, kinship care and caregiver recruitment services for children, young people and families. You will provide operational and practice leadership, develop Team Leaders and partner with the community to ensure safe, stable and nurturing care arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Home Based Care team to deliver foster, kinship care and caregiver recruitment services.
• Provide operational and practice leadership and develop Team Leaders.
• Strengthen service quality with child-centred, trauma-informed, culturally safe and evidence-informed practice.
• Build partnerships across Brophy and the broader community; champion voices and rights of children and young people.
• Lead continuous improvement to improve day-to-day service delivery while keeping children and young people at the heart of decisions.

About the Role

As our Manager – Home Based Care, you’ll lead our Home Based Care team in delivering high-quality foster care, kinship care and caregiver recruitment services, working alongside children, young people, families and carers to support safe, stable and nurturing care arrangements.

Do your skills include:

• A sound understanding of issues confronting disadvantaged children, young people and their families, particularly clients involved with the Child Protection system and Home Based Care programs.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Home Based Care, Foster Care, Kinship Care and/or Child Protection services, including a strong understanding of trauma-informed, child-centred, culturally safe and evidence-informed practice, and the ability to support complex case management and placement stability outcomes
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams within child, youth and family services, including the ability to provide practice leadership, supervision, performance management and workforce development while fostering a positive, accountable and psychologically safe team culture

Are your credentials:

• A relevant tertiary qualification appropriate to the requirements of the role, together with extensive relevant experience and a high level of professional or specialist expertise; or an equivalent combination of qualifications, considerable skills, extensive experience and competence sufficient to perform the requirements of the position.
