Job summary

NT PHN is seeking a senior leader to join the Office of the CEO, providing strategic leadership across governance, enterprise risk, compliance and assurance. This role supports organisational accountability and decision-making, while advising the Board, Board Committees, Chair, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Leadership Team on governance and risk matters.

As Manager, Enterprise Risk & Governance, you will lead a multidisciplinary governance and assurance team spanning enterprise risk

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree or equivalent in governance, risk management, law, business, public administration, finance or related discipline.
• Extensive senior leadership experience across governance, risk, compliance and assurance functions.
• Experience establishing and overseeing enterprise risk management frameworks and governance structures, including reporting to Boards and Audit & Risk Committees.
• Experience undertaking Company Secretary or equivalent governance responsibilities, including Board processes and regulatory reporting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills to build trusted relationships across boards, executives, government agencies, regulators and community sectors.

Responsibilities

• Fulfilling senior Company Secretary responsibilities and providing governance advice and support to the Board, Board Committees, Chair and Chief Executive Officer.
• Maintaining and reviewing NT PHN’s governance framework, including Board and Committee charters, delegations, governance policies, decision-making frameworks and governance practices.
• Leading the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the enterprise risk management framework, including risk appetite, risk reporting, risk oversight and organisational risk capability.
• Providing strategic advice to the Board and Executive on organisational risk exposure, governance effectiveness, regulatory matters, emerging risks and assurance outcomes.
• Overseeing and integrating organisational assurance functions, including risk, compliance, audit, quality, privacy and information security activities.
• Maintaining oversight of statutory, contractual and funding compliance obligations and leading organisational responses to significant risk events, audit findings, compliance matters or governance issues.
• Supporting Board effectiveness through Director induction, Board evaluation processes, governance reviews, Board capability development and succession planning activities.
• Leading governance reporting to the Board and Audit and Risk Committee, including consolidated enterprise risk, compliance and assurance reporting.
• Providing leadership and performance oversight to governance, risk and Board Services functions, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and professional excellence.

As Manager, Enterprise Risk & Governance, you will lead a multidisciplinary governance and assurance team spanning enterprise risk management, governance systems, Board and Committee Services, compliance, assurance and continuous improvement activities across the organisation.

About You

• Knowledge or training equivalent to a relevant postgraduate degree in governance, risk management, law, business, public administration, finance or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, professional development and substantial experience.
• Extensive senior leadership experience across enterprise-wide governance, risk, compliance and assurance functions.
• Demonstrated experience establishing, implementing and overseeing enterprise risk management frameworks, assurance systems and governance structures, including reporting to Boards and Audit & Risk Committees.
• Experience undertaking Company Secretary or equivalent senior governance responsibilities, including Board governance processes, constitutional obligations, governance compliance and regulatory reporting.
• Highly developed communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across Boards, executives, government agencies, stakeholders, regulators and community sectors.

Experience within the Australian health, government or not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded. Professional certification in risk management, governance, audit or compliance is desirable.

About the Role
