Job summary

The Queensland Government’s Transport and Main Roads Central West District in Barcaldine seeks a Manager (Delivery & Operations) to lead a portfolio of road, bridge and maintenance contracts and shape the district’s strategic direction.

You will deliver programs safely and efficiently, develop project managers and technical teams, monitor budgets and schedules, and build strong stakeholder relationships with local government, industry and communities.

Qualifications

  • Washington Accord accredited Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) required.
  • Current registration as a Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) required.
  • Significant experience in delivering road infrastructure programs and contracts.
  • Strong program and project management capability; leadership and communication skills.

Lead, influence and make a lasting impact in the heart of Queensland's outback.Join TMR's Central West District as Manager (Delivery & Operations) and play a key leadership role in delivering the transport infrastructure that connects communities, supports industry and drives regional growth across Central West Queensland.Based in Barcaldine, you'll lead a diverse portfolio of road and transport infrastructure projects while contributing to the strategic direction of the district as a member of the District Leadership Team. This opportunity combines technical expertise, strategic leadership and people management to help shape the future of one of Queensland's most rewarding regions.About the roleAs Manager (Delivery & Operations), you will lead the delivery and performance of a significant transport infrastructure investment program across the district. Working closely with project teams, stakeholders and senior leaders, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with community and government expectations.Key responsibilities include:Leading the planning, delivery and performance of the district's infrastructure program.Providing strategic advice to the District Director on priorities, risks and delivery outcomes.Leading and developing project managers and technical teams.Monitoring program performance, budgets and schedules.Overseeing the delivery of complex road, bridge and maintenance contracts. Building strong relationships with local government, industry and community stakeholders.Leading stakeholder engagement activities that support successful project delivery. Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, governance and technical standards.About youYou are an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in infrastructure delivery, stakeholder engagement and team leadership.
