Job summary

Soteria is hiring a Male Support Worker in the Jervis Bay area to provide SIL home support for participants with complex care needs. You will work a rotating roster including day, evening and overnight shifts, with some weekend availability required.

You will assist clients with daily routines, skills training and transport to appointments, while maintaining detailed shift reports and collaborating with a supportive team. NDIs and WH&S are integral to daily practice.

Qualifications

• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Current First Aid certificate + CPR.
• Current Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Minimum Certificate III in Disability.
• Experience with complex participants.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily routines and self-care tasks.
• Document shift reports, incident reports and progress notes.
• Provide community access and transport to medical and social appointments.
• Ensure food handling and WH&S standards are met.
• Collaborate effectively with the care team.

Job description

We are hiring Male Support Workers experienced with supporting participants with complex care needs in the Jervis Bay area !

Please note: These preferences are based on the participant’s individual needs, in line with the comfort, support requirements and the participant’s right to Choice and Control under the NDIS.

As an experienced SIL home NDIS Support Worker, you will know that we need employees who are flexible to work AM and PM shifts. Availability on some weekends is a must. We have a rotating roster available that includes day shifts, evenings and overnights.

We need you to be able to assist our clients with their daily routines and skills, such as Community access, medication, personal care, domestic duties, etc. Manage accurate and detailed shift reports, incident reports and progress notes. Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Skills needed:

• Provide high-quality and timely care support to all clients as directed by Soteria

• Document service activities that support service outcomes

• Document behaviour management where applicable and complete thorough shift handovers with fellow employees.

• Assist clients in carrying out all self-care tasks as requested

• Provide transport for medical and social appointments

• Providing services in a culturally appropriate manner

• Ensure that there is always adequate food for the client

• Ensure relevant food handling regulations are adhered to, and Work Health and Safety (WH&S) standards are met at all times

Requirements:

• You must be a male to be considered for this role
