Job summary

APS Industrial is seeking a highly motivated Major Project Manager to join our NSW sales team based in Sydney. You will identify, develop, and manage major project opportunities across key customer segments and strategic growth markets, reporting to the NSW State Manager.

You will build and maintain strong networks with consultants, contractors, end users, OEMs, and channel partners, guiding opportunities through specification, tender, negotiation, and delivery while coordinating stakeholder

Qualifications

• Very detailed experience in the electrical industry, ideally across power distribution and industrial electrical solutions.
• Experience with major projects and infrastructure-related applications is preferred.
• Proven ability to identify major project opportunities early by building strong networks with consultants, contractors, end users, OEMs, switchboard builders, and channel partners.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially astute Major Project Manager to join our NSW sales team based in Sydney. Reporting to the NSW State Manager, this position plays a critical role in identifying, developing, and managing major project opportunities across key customer segments and strategic growth markets.

The Major Project Manager will:

• Identify and qualify major project opportunities across Sydney, NSW, and nationally relevant strategic accounts, including consultants, contractors, switchboard builders, system integrators, end users, and channel partners.
• Develop and manage project pipelines from early-stage concept and specification through to tender, negotiation, award, delivery, and post-project review.
• Collaborate closely with internal sales teams, external BDM’s, supplier partners, and key stakeholders to position APS Industrial’s product portfolio, solutions and technical capability as the preferred solution for major projects.
• Work closely with consultants and end users to influence project specifications.

Experience, Skills and Pre-Requisites

We are looking for candidates who:

• Have very detailed experience in the electrical industry, ideally across power distribution, motor control, industrial electrical solutions, whilst also having experience with major projects, and infrastructure-related applications.
• Experience in Automation and Drives is advantageous.
• Demonstrate the ability to identify major project opportunities early by building strong networks with consultants, contractors, end users, OEMs, switchboard builders, and channel partners.
• Understand project lifecycles and be able to manage opportunities through specification, tendering, stakeholder engagement, commercial negotiation, delivery coordination, and post-project follow-up.
• Be highly organised and capable of maintaining accurate project pipelines, forecasts, CRM records, and stakeholder engagement plans.
• Bring strong commercial acumen, communication skills, and the confidence to coordinate internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Be proficient in PC literacy, including CRM tools.
• Bring a positive, motivated, and enthusiastic attitude to the team.
• Have a trade or electrical industry background.
