Job summary

Astrum Recruitment is assisting an Alexandria-based electrical contractor in finding a Junior Project Manager to grow into a Senior PM. You’ll take responsibility for electrical projects from award to completion with support from an experienced PM and leadership team.

Role involves schedules, procurement, cost tracking and client coordination across NSW. A clear pathway to Senior PM, mentorship, and a permanent full-time position are on offer, with potential vehicle inclusion for the right

Qualifications

• Electrical background to build a PM career
• Experience in project coordination or junior PM roles is valued
• Knowledge of procurement, scheduling and project costs
• Good MS Office skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

• Manage project schedules, programs and milestones
• Coordinate procurement, supplier quotes, PO’s and material deliveries
• Oversee project documentation, variations, RFIs and progress claims
• Track project costs and budgets to ensure financial control
• Coordinate with clients, head contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams
• Ensure WHS, quality and electrical compliance
• Maintain ITPs, O&M manuals and as-builts

Job description

Are you a leading hand or site foreman ready to move into project management? Or a Junior PM looking for the next step?
Our client is a growing electrical contractor based in Alexandria with a strong pipeline of commercial and industrial projects across NSW and Sydney. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Junior Project Manager to join their team and develop into a Senior PM.

The Role

You will take responsibility for electrical projects from award through to completion, with support from an experienced PM and leadership team.

• Manage project schedules, programs and key milestones.
• Manage procurement, supplier quotes, purchase orders and material deliveries
• Manage project documentation, variations, RFIs and progress claims.
• Track project costs and budgets
• Coordinate with clients, head contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams
• Ensure WHS, quality and electrical compliance requirements are met.
• Maintain project documentation, including ITPs, O&M manuals and as-builts

About You

This role suits someone with an electrical background who wants to build a career in project management.

You may be:

• A site foreman with strong project coordination experience
• A Junior PM or Contract Administrator ready for more responsibility
• Someone with electrical or building services project experience who wants to progress

  You will have:

  • Electrical trade qualifications/licence or strong electrical/building services experience
  • Previous project coordination, project management or contract administration experience
  • Knowledge of procurement, scheduling and project costs
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
