Job summary

MacKellar Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to coordinate planned maintenance across a large mobile mining fleet in Queensland. You’ll own maintenance planning, scheduling, defect management and backlog control to ensure safe, efficient delivery for production needs.

Responsibilities include developing maintenance plans, scheduling servicing and shutdowns, managing backlogs and tracking defects.

• Proven maintenance planning experience in heavy mining.
• Strong knowledge of ultra-class mining equipment.
• Current mechanical trade qualification.

IFO from Rockhampton or Townsville | 8/6 roster | Permanent full-time | Large HME fleet
MacKellar is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join our team and help drive the reliability, availability and performance of a large mobile mining fleet.

Working closely with the Planning & Reliability team, you’ll take ownership of maintenance planning, scheduling, defect management and backlog control to ensure critical work is completed safely and efficiently.

The Role

You’ll coordinate planned maintenance activities across a large fleet, ensuring work is prioritised, resourced and delivered to support production requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing short and long-term maintenance plans
• Scheduling servicing, component replacements and shutdowns
• Managing maintenance backlogs and prioritising critical work
• Tracking equipment defects and coordinating corrective actions
• Working closely with Supervisors, Trades and Operations
• Escalating critical equipment issues and emerging risks
• Maintaining accurate planning data and maintenance records in JDE
• Identifying opportunities to improve maintenance efficiency and fleet reliability

About You

You’ll bring:

• Proven maintenance planning experience in heavy mining
• Strong knowledge of ultra-class mining equipment
• Relevant mechanical trade qualification
• Experience with JDE or similar maintenance management systems
• Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
• Current Standard 11 or ability to obtain
• Current Queensland Driver Licence
• Strong organisation, communication and stakeholder management skills
