Job summary

Blackbook Executive is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join the engineering team in Caboolture, Australia. You will plan, coordinate and schedule maintenance activities to enhance safety, reliability and efficiency of site operations.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will develop schedules, manage resources, and maintain CMMS data to support cost control and continuous improvement across the facility.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of preventative, corrective, and shutdown maintenance planning.
• Proficiency with CMMS platforms (MEX, SAP) or similar.
• Ability to coordinate trades, contractors, and parts.
• Understanding of maintenance budgeting and cost control.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Engineering, Production, Stores and other stakeholders to scope and plan maintenance before scheduling.
• Develop and maintain weekly, monthly, and shutdown maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate labour, materials, spare parts, tools, and contractors.
• Ensure work orders are closed out and records updated.
• Maintain CMMS data including PM schedules and asset information.
• Utilise CMMS systems to improve planning, scheduling, reporting and asset performance.
• Work with Procurement to ensure parts availability.
• Assist with maintenance budgeting and cost reporting.
• Support tender processes for contracted works.

The Company

An industry-leading food manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join its engineering team in Caboolture. This is a critical role responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance activities to support the safety, reliability, and efficiency of site operations.

The role will play an integral part in minimising equipment downtime, improving asset reliability, and ensuring maintenance activities are completed within agreed time framesand budgets.

The role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager your responsibilities will include:

• Liaise with Engineering Team Leaders, Production, Stores, and other key stakeholders to ensure maintenance jobs are fully scoped and planned before scheduling.
• Develop and maintain accurate, achievable weekly, monthly, and shutdown maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate labour, materials, spare parts, tools, and contractor resources to support efficient maintenance execution.
• Ensure completed maintenance work orders are accurately closed out and relevant records are maintained.
• Maintain accurate maintenance data within the CMMS, including preventative maintenance schedules, job plans, work orders, and asset information.
• Utilise MEX, SAP, or similar maintenance management systems to improve planning, scheduling, reporting, and asset performance.
• Work closely with Procurement and Stores to ensure spare parts, materials, and equipment are available when required.
• Support basic tender processes for contracted works, ensuring scope, costs, and deliverables are appropriately managed.
• Assist with maintenance budgeting, cost tracking, and reporting to support effective financial control.

Your Background

• Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning within a manufacturing environment. Experience in food manufacturing will be highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of preventative, corrective, and shutdown maintenance planning and scheduling practices.
• Proficiency in CMMS platforms, with experience using MEX, SAP, or similar maintenance management systems.
• Proven ability to coordinate tradespeople, contractors, materials, spare parts, and other resources to ensure maintenance work is delivered efficiently.
• Sound understanding of maintenance budgeting, cost control, procurement, and performance reporting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across Engineering, Production, Stores, and external suppliers.
