Levande is seeking a Maintenance Officer for Maybrook Manor in Cromer, NSW. This permanent full-time role offers consistent Monday to Friday hours and a competitive hourly rate up to $36.95.

You will manage a varied maintenance workload, coordinate contractors, and support residents with practical, hands-on tasks. Based at Maybrook Manor, you will be empowered to organise your day, respond to resident requests and help keep the village safe and comfortable.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in general building, property or facilities maintenance.
• Sound practical judgement and commitment to workplace safety.
• Basic computer literacy including Word and Excel, with willingness to develop these skills further.

Responsibilities

• Complete minor repairs in village buildings, facilities and common areas.
• Conduct routine inspections and address maintenance and safety concerns.
• Perform basic checks and troubleshooting of hot-water and air-conditioning systems.
• Coordinate licensed trades and contractors when needed.
• Record and track maintenance activities and stock levels.
• Drive the resident bus for outings on Tuesdays and Thursdays when required.

What You Will Be Working On

You will manage a varied mix of general and preventative maintenance across Maybrook Manor, including:

• Completing minor repairs throughout village buildings, facilities and common areas
• Conducting routine inspections and addressing maintenance and safety concerns
• Performing basic checks and troubleshooting involving hot-water and air-conditioning systems
• Identifying work that requires a licensed trade and coordinating the appropriate contractorResponding promptly to urgent maintenance requests
• Recording, updating and tracking maintenance work and preventative maintenance activities
• Monitoring tools, equipment and maintenance supplies
• Supporting effective waste management and the upkeep of outdoor areas
• Keeping residents informed and providing friendly, respectful service
• Driving the resident bus for regular Tuesday and Thursday outings when required

What Type of Person Will Be Successful

You are practical, dependable and take pride in completing work safely and properly. You can organise your day and work independently, while using sound judgement to recognise when a task needs to be referred to a licensed professional.

You will bring:

• Hands-on experience in general building, property or facilities maintenance
• Working knowledge of common maintenance issues, including basic hot-water and air-conditioning checks
• Sound practical judgement and a strong commitment to workplace safety
• The ability to organise your workload and adapt to changing priorities
• A friendly and respectful approach when working with residents
• Basic computer literacy, including experience using Microsoft Word and Excel, together with the willingness and ability to develop these skills further
• The physical capacity to perform hands-on duties and lift or move items weighing up to 15 kilograms
• A current Light Rigid (LR) driver licence, or the willingness and ability to obtain one to drive the village bus

A relevant trade qualification and experience in retirement living would be valuable but are not essential.
