Job summary

Fresh Hope Communities is seeking a Maintenance Officer to care for three Retirement Living communities, primarily at Castle Cove with weekly visits to Forestville and Pendle Hill cover. You will perform repairs, routine maintenance and respond to requests, ensuring properties are safe, welcoming and well presented.

You will coordinate contractors, maintain records and use mobile tools to manage work orders, reporting and scheduling, bringing a friendly and customer-focused approach to residents.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications or hands-on experience in property, facilities or maintenance services.
• Solid understanding of WHS requirements and a strong safety mindset.
• Strong customer service focus and the ability to communicate respectfully with older people.
• Be approachable, empathetic, honest, patient and kind with a sense of humour.
• Be adaptable (your workplace is someone's home).
• Confidence using mobile devices, apps and Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new systems.
• Current Drivers Licence.
• A recent National Criminal History Check suitable for aged care or willingness to acquire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the presentation, safety and functionality of buildings, pathways, communal facilities, outdoor spaces and surrounding grounds across three Retirement Living communities
• Perform general repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance activities to ensure communities remain attractive, safe and well maintained.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and property issues, ensuring Residents receive friendly, professional and responsive service.
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
• Build strong and respectful relationships with Residents, community teams, contractors and service providers.
• Support compliance activities, property inspections, safety checks and maintenance record management.
• Use your tech skills to manage work orders, reporting and maintenance schedules.
• Bring a warm, collaborative and solutions-focused approach to every interaction.

Job description

Maintenance Officer
Join our Retirement Living team as a Maintenance Officer, helping to keep our communities safe, well-presented and welcoming. Based primarily at Castle Cove, you'll also visit Forestville 1 to 2 times per week and provide occasional support at Pendle Hill. A work vehicle, tools and equipment are provided. Working closely with residents, village teams and the Property Services Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining communities that residents are proud to call home.

• Permanent - Full Time, 38 hours per week position
• Primarily Castle Cove. Forestville 1 - 2 times per week and occasional cover in Pendle Hill.
