Job summary

Bella Vista Haven is part of Aveo Group, a vibrant retirement community in Sydney's Hills District. As a Maintenance Officer, you will perform day-to-day maintenance, coordinate contractors, and care for grounds and facilities to keep residents’ homes safe and welcoming.

You will join a proactive facilities team, working Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with opportunities to contribute to preventative maintenance and resident satisfaction within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a general maintenance or trade-based role.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with troubleshooting abilities.
• Clear communication with residents and team.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Aveo Facilities team and contractors to ensure external works are attended to and completed to a high standard
• Conduct regular inspections around the village to rectify maintenance defects and issues
• Perform small plumbing maintenance, including replacing taps and washers
• Support the upkeep of external assets such as lighting and sprinkler systems
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance across the community
• Manage community tools and equipment to ensure they are safe, organised and fit for purpose
• Prepare and program access swipes for residents or family members
• Record maintenance activities, notes and job updates
• Be a friendly and approachable presence for residents while working closely with a supportive team

As Maintenance Officer, you will be working closely alongside the residents and fellow staff, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair tasks around our retirement village. No two days are the same. From completing repairs and maintenance tasks to coordinating contractors and helping maintain our beautiful grounds and facilities, you'll be at the heart of creating an environment that residents are proud to call home. This role is perfect for someone with a trade background or strong maintenance experience who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, solving problems, and building positive relationships. This is a permanent full time position working Monday to Friday (8:00am-4:00pm)

Whatyou'llbring

• An understanding of maintenance cycles and the expected lifespan of equipment and village assets
• Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain maintenance works in a resident‑friendly way
• Great attention to detail
• A positive, approachable attitude anda strong senseof pride in your work
• A valid driver’s licence (essential)
