Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Maintenance Officer at Mercy Place Warrnambool, VIC to ensure safe, functional and well-maintained facilities for residents and staff. The role is permanent, part-time, located on-site at 16 Hopetoun Rd, Warrnambool.

You will perform repairs, preventative maintenance, supervise contractors, and maintain maintenance records while upholding safety standards and resident-centred care.

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance experience in commercial settings.
• Trade qualification preferred but not essential.
• Current driver's licence.
• Police check evidence or in process.

Responsibilities

• Carry out grounds maintenance, on-going repairs and preventive servicing of buildings, plant, equipment and furniture.
• Liaise with and oversee contractors, including site access and inductions.
• Identify, report and implement opportunities for improvement across the facility.
• Assist in identifying and rectifying WHS/OHS issues to maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain accurate records using computer-based maintenance systems.
• Contribute positively to a collaborative, resident-focused team environment.

About the opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to support our Residential Aged Care Home in Warrnambool. In this role, you will ensure our buildings, grounds and facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained for residents, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for the on-going repairs, preventative maintenance and general upkeep of the facility. You will also assist with identifying and addressing safety concerns to support a secure and comfortable environment for everyone on site. Your work will play a key role in ensuring our RAC facility remain safe, presentable and operational.

• Carry out ground's maintenance, on-going repairs and preventative servicing of buildings, plant, equipment and furniture.

• Good knowledge of WHS/OH&S standards and regulatory maintenance requirements for aged care and independent living.
• Experience managing contractors and understanding of essential systems such as HVAC, essential services, and Building 9C regulations.

Requirements

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

• A current Police Record Check.
• Trade based qualification or more than 3 years' experience in a commercial maintenance position.
• Current driver's licence.
