Job summary

St Vincent’s Care Services Edgecliff in Sydney’s eastern suburbs is seeking a Maintenance Officer to provide routine, planned and urgent maintenance across our aged care facility. You’ll work autonomously and with a team to handle trades from painting to carpentry, garden upkeep and minor installations.

The role requires a valid driver’s licence, the ability to follow safety procedures, and participation in on-call rosters. Pre-employment checks including NDIS Worker Screening apply.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications in carpentry, painting, electrical or plumbing (desirable).
• Experience in Aged Care, Health or Community (essential/desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide routine, planned, ad-hoc and urgent maintenance tasks.
• Handle general garden maintenance and miscellaneous repairs.
• Assist residents with sensors, water pressure, TV remotes or safety handrails.

Maintenance Officer

you will work autonomously and as a team, to provide routine, planned, ad-hoc and respond to urgent maintenance requests and general garden maintenance. And the requests are varied! You can expect requests from planned maintenance works like painting, patching and flooring repairs, general pruning and planned mowing, through to assisting residents with sensors, water pressure, TV remotes or bathroom and handrail installations no day is the same in Aged Care. As the Maintenance Officer you will be part of a supportive, dedicated team at St Vincent’s Care Services Edgecliff.

is just 4km east of Sydney's city centre. Our small but homey 39 bed facility is located in a tranquil, leafy suburb within walking distance of public transport.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity.

Things that work for us

• Have relevant trade qualifications (desirable) in carpentry, painter, electrician or plumbing
• Relatable experience (essential) in Aged Care, Health or Community (highly desirable)
• Ability to perform maintenance works
• Hold a valid Driver’s Licence (essential)
• Experience working in a varied work environment

• Participate in an on call roster
• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (within last 6 months).
