Job summary

Essence Communities is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day facilities and maintenance operations at Assemble Victoria Street, Brunswick.

You will manage maintenance across trades, drive preventative programs, coordinate contractors and defects, monitor budgets and energy initiatives, and uphold high presentation standards in shared spaces.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands‑on and highly capable Maintenance Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day facilities and maintenance operations at Assemble Victoria Street, Brunswick.

You will be doing:

• Oversee all building and apartment maintenance, including repairs across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general upkeep
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs, compliance, and safety standards
• Coordinate contractors, manage defects, and oversee apartment turnover and make‑good works
• Monitor budgets, procurement, stock levels, and support energy and sustainability initiatives
• Maintain high presentation standards across common areas, gardens, and facilities while supporting resident and team needs

About You

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions quickly
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders and residents
• Highly organised with strong time management and multitasking capabilities
• Detail‑oriented and results‑driven, with a focus on achieving KPIs and high standards
• Hands‑on professional with a strong technical background and a passion for delivering high‑quality facilities management
• Unrestricted working rights in Australia and a National Police Check, or ability to obtain one
