Job summary

Thiess is seeking an experienced Maintenance Leading Hands to join the Eva Copper Mine Project team in North West Queensland. You will lead a mobile maintenance crew, ensure safe and efficient production across our fleet, and work within a high-performing maintenance team on site at Eva Copper.

Roster: 2:2, Permanent full-time. Competitive remuneration and opportunities for training, with DIDO/BIBO options from regional hubs. Applicants relocating to North West Queensland are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Heavy Diesel Fitting or equivalent.
• Current G1, G8, G9 (S1/2/3) & RIIRIS402EG2.
• Mining experience with exposure to leading mobile maintenance HD Fitters.
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Strong health and safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead a skilled mobile maintenance team following Supervisors’ and Superintendents’ directives.
• Fulfil the Maintenance Supervisors’ duties in their absence.
• Perform servicing, repair and maintenance of equipment as directed.
• Source technical information from manuals and bulletins.
• Provide technical information to staff and operations personnel.
• Source and requisition parts through correct ordering procedures.
• Verify solution implementations and address non-conformities.

The Project is an iron-oxide copper-gold resource featuring multiple open pits and is poised to become the largest greenfield copper mine in Queensland.

As theMaintenance Leading Hands,you will:

• Lead a skilled mobile maintenance team following Supervisors’ and Superintendents’ directives
• Fulfil the Maintenance Supervisors’ duties in their absence
• Perform the servicing, repair and maintenance of equipment as directed in accordance with Thiess servicing, lubrication, and maintenance systems documentation
• Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, and computer-based systems
• Provide technical information to staff and operations personnel
• Source and requisition parts and/or equipment requirements through the appropriate manuals or publications using the correct ordering procedure
• Verify the implementation of solutions and/or control further non-conforming machinery until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
