Thiess is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor for the Eva Copper Mine Project in North West Queensland. You will oversee site surveillance, manage subcontractors and lead safety and quality on multi-discipline works.

The role requires strong leadership, risk management, and ability to coordinate crews to meet milestones within a challenging mining environment. Join a collaborative Alliance with Harmony and contribute to sustainable mining operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in a similar role with a tier 1 or 2 construction company.
• Comprehensive understanding of OHS legislation and regulations, safety standards, and contractual requirements.
• White Card holder.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular job site inspections to assess performance and compliance with project standards.
• Actively monitor the work environment for hazards and address risks promptly.
• Supervising external multi-discipline Subcontractors and Suppliers (civil, mechanical, structural, electrical).
• Liaising with the Senior Project Engineer and Construction Manager.
• Coordinate with clients/subcontractors to ensure work aligns with drawings, specs and schedules.
• Prepare and deliver pre-starts and toolbox talks.
• Manage supply and delivery of materials, plant and equipment.
• Ensure works meet contract and Australian standards.
• Provide daily progress reports and address non-compliance or delays.
• Assist with contract management tasks and tendering contributions.
• Implement technical and safety requirements; foster continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will provide onsite construction engineering surveillance and management of subcontractors ensuring the safe execution of the Project., * Leading and enforcing Site compliance to all health, safety and environment matters

• * Conduct regular job site inspections to assess performance and compliance with project standards.
• * Actively monitor the work environment for potential hazards and address risks in timely manner.
• * Demonstrating a personal commitment to the HSE Cultural Framework, policies, Critical Risk Controls and HSE Management System requirements and expectations.
• * Supervising external multi-discipline Subcontractors and Suppliers including civil, mechanical, structural, electrical disciplines.
• * Supervising and developing project engineers within the team
• * Liaising with the Senior Project Engineer and Construction Manager
• * Coordinate with clients and/or subcontractors to ensure work is carried out in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and scheduled dates.
• * Monitoring and driving works to the project schedule to ensure project milestones are achieved
• * Preparing and delivering pre-starts and toolboxes
• * Determining and coordinating supply and delivery of materials, plant and equipment
• * Insuring works carried out are as per the contract and are to relevant Australian and industry Standards.
• * Managing internal and external interfaces with contractor/client personnel.
• * Perform quality management representative duties.
• * Provide daily reports on progress, non-compliance, and any work delays.
• * Assist with contract management tasks.
• * Contribute to estimating and tendering processes.
• * Implement technical and safety requirements for the project.
• * Promote and actively participate in and continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.

About the Candidate

• * Supervisory tickets S1,S2,S3
• * G2 risk management, G3 establish & maintain risk management certificates
• * Minimum, 5 years' experience in a similar role, working with a tier 1 or 2 construction company.
• * Comprehensive understanding of OHS legislation and regulations, including contractual, quality requirements, safety standards, and knowledge of industry construction processes and methodologies.
• * Proven experience in successfully delivering multi discipline construction projects >$10M within the resources space
• * Demonstrated capabilities to effectively manage and coordinate multiple work crews, both internal and subcontractor, to achieve project aims.
• * Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
• * Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• * Demonstrated safety and environmental leadership behaviour and compliance
• * Demonstrated success in driving team and subcontractor performance
• * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• * The ability to manage relationships with contractors
• * Leadership, problem-solving and influencing skills
• * Ability to work in a small project team
• * Strong attention to detail for quality assurance
• * Possession of a White Card.
• * Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
