Job summary

Metro Trains Sydney Pty is seeking an experienced Maintenance Lead - Electrical to spearhead preventative and corrective maintenance across our metro rail network. You will lead a team of Electrical Technicians and coordinate with internal and external service providers to deliver safe, high‑quality works.

The role requires a Certificate III in Electrical or a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, with at least five years in rail or related industry, a valid driver’s licence, and a proven

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Lead - Electrical to lead the delivery of preventative and corrective maintenance activities across our world-class metro rail network.

Reporting to the Maintenance Delivery Manager - Electrical, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians and managing external service providers to ensure maintenance works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Lead and develop a team of Electrical Technicians.
• Manage the delivery of maintenance works through internal and external resources.
• Monitor contractor performance against safety, quality and contractual requirements.
• Support work planning, project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with MTS standards and procedures.
• Contribute to budget, resource and workforce planning activities.
• Implement performance and development plans to build team capability.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

You will hold either a Certificate III in Electrical or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, hold a current driver’s licence, with at least five years’ experience in rail or a related industry.

You are a safety-focused leader with strong electrical maintenance, team development, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
