Job summary

Metro Trains Sydney (MTS) is seeking an experienced Maintenance Lead - Electrical to direct preventative and corrective electrical maintenance across our metro network, reporting to the Maintenance Delivery Manager - Electrical.

You will lead a team of technicians, manage external providers, uphold safety and quality, and contribute to planning, budgeting and continuous improvement in a dynamic railway environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Electrical or a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Current driver’s license required.
• Minimum five years in rail or related industry.
• Safety-focused leader with strong communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Electrical Technicians.
• Manage maintenance delivery through internal and external resources.
• Monitor contractor performance against safety, quality and contract requirements.
• Support work planning, project delivery, and continuous improvement.
• Drive a strong safety culture and compliance with MTS standards.
• Contribute to budget, resource and workforce planning.
• Implement performance and development plans to build team capability.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Lead - Electrical to lead the delivery of preventative and corrective maintenance activities across our world-class metro rail network.

Reporting to the Maintenance Delivery Manager - Electrical, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians and managing external service providers to ensure maintenance works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To

• Lead and develop a team of Electrical Technicians.
• Manage the delivery of maintenance works through internal and external resources.
• Monitor contractor performance against safety, quality and contractual requirements.
• Support work planning, project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with MTS standards and procedures.
• Contribute to budget, resource and workforce planning activities.
• Implement performance and development plans to build team capability.

Desired Skills And Experience

About you

You will hold either a Certificate III in Electrical or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, hold a current driver’s licence, with at least five years’ experience in rail or a related industry.

You are a safety-focused leader with strong electrical maintenance, team development, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
