Job summary

Lutheran Services Australia is seeking a hands-on Maintenance & Grounds Officer to support Immanuel Gardens Retirement Living in Buderim. You will maintain buildings, gardens and shared spaces to keep the environment safe, tidy and welcoming for residents and staff.

This part-time role (60 hours per fortnight, Tue–Fri, 7:30am–3:36pm) offers a competitive hourly rate of $29.45–$31.11 plus super, salary packaging and staff discounts, with a not-for-profit employer committed to quality care.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial maintenance and groundskeeping, preferably in aged care.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and preventative maintenance schedules.
• A team player with a proactive attitude and customer-service focus.
• Current Police Check and Queensland Driver’s Licence.
• Valid NDIS Worker Screening clearance.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance and upkeep of lawns, gardens and common areas.

We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance & Grounds Officer to support the upkeep of our Immanuel Gardens Retirement Living community, ensuring facilities, gardens and shared spaces are safe, functional and well presented.

About The Role

In this hands-on role, you’ll manage the day-to-day maintenance of buildings, gardens, and grounds, ensuring everything is safe, tidy, and well presented.

Key Responsibilities Include

• General maintenance and upkeep of lawns, gardens, and common areas
• Performing scheduled preventative maintenance and external cleaning
• Identifying and reporting new risks while working to minimise existing ones.
• Undertaking administrative tasks related to maintenance operations.
• Managing external contractors and minor building projects
• Using equipment and materials safely and responsibly
• Your work will help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Gardening experience essential; aged care or retirement living experience desirable

About You

• Experience in commercial maintenance and groundskeeping within an aged care setting or a similar environment.
