Job summary

Lutheran Services is seeking a Maintenance & Grounds Officer for Tabeel Aged Care in Laidley, QLD. This hands-on role focuses on daily maintenance of buildings, gardens, and grounds to ensure safety and tidiness for residents and staff.

The position is part-time (45 hours per fortnight) with a starting hourly rate of $29.45–$31.11 plus super, salary packaging, and staff discounts. Prior experience in aged care or similar environments is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial maintenance and groundskeeping in aged care or similar.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Team player with a proactive attitude and customer service focus.
• Valid Police Check and/or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or eligible).
• Current driver’s licence (desirable).

Responsibilities

• General maintenance and upkeep of lawns, gardens, and common areas.
• Performing scheduled preventative maintenance and external cleaning.
• Identifying and reporting new risks while working to minimise existing ones.
• Undertaking administrative tasks related to maintenance operations.
• Managing external contractors and minor building projects.
• Using equipment and materials safely and responsibly.
• Your work will help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
