Job summary

Mauri, part of the George Weston Foods Group, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter for our Camellia site in Australia. The role focuses on scheduled and preventative maintenance, as well as breakdown response to support production operations.

You will carry out daily servicing, repairs and maintenance, contribute to plant improvements, and uphold a proactive safety culture with LOTO and permits. Strong welding skills and relevant trade qualifications are essential.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical fitting or Turner equivalent.
• Strong welding skills required.
• Restricted Electrical licence (Desirable)
• Experience in FMCG or Food manufacturing.
• Licences/tickets such as Confined space, Forklift, Working at heights, Elevated work platform (Desirable).
• Strong communication skills across all levels of the business.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily servicing, repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment as scheduled by the Maintenance Planner.
• Be involved in plant improvements and projects.
• Maintain a proactive safety attitude and follow safety protocols (LOTO, permits).
• Assist other team members and support two-person tasks, fabrication, or heavy-duty mechanical work.
• Respond to breakdown calls, evaluate causes and implement solutions with production staff.
• Carry out minor electrical tasks (disconnects-connects-resets) if qualified.

About The Role

We are currently looking for an experienced and qualified Maintenance Fitter for our Camellia site. This role will be responsible for working on scheduled and preventative maintenance within the site, as well as attending to breakdown responses to support business operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out daily servicing, repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment as scheduled by the Maintenance Planner
• Be actively involved in plant improvements and projects
• Maintain a proactive safety attitude and follow safety protocols (e.g., LOTO, permits)
• Work with and assist other team members as required e.g. two people, fabrication (hot work) or heavy-duty mechanical skills
• Respond promptly to breakdown calls, evaluate causes, and implement solutions in coordination with production staff
• Carry out minor electrical tasks i.e. disconnects - reconnects, resets, in line with relevant electrical qualifications, if applicable

To be successful in this role, you will be required to possess:

• Relevant trade qualification (e.g. Mechanical Fitter & Turner)
• Strong welding skills
• Restricted Electrical licence (Desirable)
• Experience in FMCG or Food manufacturing
• Relevant licences and tickets e.g. Confined space, Forklift, Working at heights, Elevated work platform (Desirable)
• Strong communication skills with an all-inclusive approach to dealing with peers and operations personnel at all levels in the business
