Job summary

Labourforce seeks a Maintenance Fitter for our manufacturing team at the Chipping Norton facility. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment to keep plant operations safe, reliable, and efficient.

You will minimise downtime, support production performance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Monday to Friday 7:00am–3:00pm with overtime and occasional weekend shutdown work; pay is $51.34 per hour plus applicable overtime rates.

Qualifications

• Mechanical fitting trade qualification is mandatory.
• Experience with Permit to Work systems and LOTO knowledge.
• High Risk Forklift Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs.
• Replace or fabricate components as required.
• Conduct inspections and servicing to prevent failures.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns.
• Assist with tooling changes and production line start-ups.
• Participate in shift changeovers.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Monitor and manage maintenance consumables and spare parts.
• Promote and uphold a strong safety culture.

About the Role

This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation. You will play a key role in minimising downtime, supporting production performance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Working Hours & Pay

• Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm
• Overtime required as needed
• Weekend work required when necessary (e.g. shutdown work)
