Job summary

Newly Weds Foods in Sydney's Western region is seeking a Maintenance Fitter for a permanent day shift (6am-2pm) at our Wetherill Park site. You will fault-find, repair machinery and carry out preventative maintenance to keep production lines running and product quality high.

Key duties include day-to-day site maintenance, preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, welding and fabrication, updating CMMS (MEX) records, and ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade certificate is required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Food Manufacturing or FMCG.
• Working knowledge of CMMS (MEX preferred).
• Demonstrated MIG/TIG welding and fabrication experience.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Sound safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Forklift licence and working at heights desirable.
• Must have full working rights.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and undertake day to day maintenance activities across the site.
• Conduct preventative maintenance according to site requirements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and minimise downtime in production.
• Disassemble, assess, repair and reassemble machine equipment and provide estimated duration of time for repair.
• Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment as per safety and operational standards.
• Perform MIG/TIG welding and fabrication when required.
• Conduct root cause analysis on failures and follow up on identified actions.
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs as required.
• Update and maintain data records on work carried out via CMMS (MEX).
• Adhere to Safety and Quality requirements onsite.

About the role

Our team is growing, and we have exciting opportunities for Maintenance Fitters to join our busy and dynamic team permanently on Day Shift (6am-2pm). Based at Wetherill Park and reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the primary objective of the role is to fault find and proactively repair machinery and conduct preventative maintenance to enable the production team to produce high quality products.

Overtime may be available on weekends when required based on operational requirements.

About you and your skills:
