Programmed is seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter for a food manufacturing facility in Tullamarine, VIC. You’ll be the sole Mechanical Fitter on night shift alongside an Electrician, focusing on preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and equipment improvements.

You will maintain conveyors, dough-processing and bakery machinery, ovens and packaging equipment, motors, gearboxes and hydraulic systems, contributing to plant reliability and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter/Machinist required.
• Experience in manufacturing, food production or industrial environments preferred.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with conveyors, motors, gearboxes and production machinery.
• Proactive approach to preventative maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.
• Pride in workmanship and staying productive between breakdowns.

Responsabilités

• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance (PM).
• Diagnose mechanical faults and complete breakdown repairs.
• Inspect, service and maintain plant and equipment.
• Perform mechanical repairs, component replacements and adjustments.
• Complete lubrication, alignment and equipment inspections.
• Identify potential equipment issues before they cause breakdowns.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate job progress.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Fitter to join an established food manufacturing facility in Tullamarine.

Working as the sole Mechanical Fitter on night shift alongside an Electrician, you will play an important role in keeping production machinery operating efficiently through preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and equipment improvements.
