Job summary

Blackbook Executive Pty is seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter for a permanent night shift in a leading food manufacturing facility. You will keep production machinery running safely and reliably during the night, performing preventative and reactive maintenance and tackling complex breakdowns.

Ideal candidates have a recognised Mechanical Trade qualification and proven experience in FMCG or food production, with strong fault‑finding abilities and a proactive approach to equipment reliability

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical fitting or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performing preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Fault‑finding across conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, motors and related equipment.
• Identifying recurring mechanical issues and implementing long‑term solutions.
• Supporting equipment improvements and preventative maintenance programs.
• Working closely with production teams to maintain output and equipment reliability.
• Following all site safety procedures and maintenance standards.

Maintenance Fitter – Night Shift
Leading Food Manufacturer
$55 Per Hour + 30% shift loading = $71.50 per hour!!!
OVERTIME - Plenty of Overtime available during the week and weekends!
Shift - Permanent Nightshift, 10PM - 6AM
Candidate - Qualified Fitter with Food/FMCG experience

The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring production equipment operates safely, reliably and efficiently throughout the night shift.

• Performing preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Fault‑finding across conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, motors and associated equipment
• Identifying recurring mechanical issues and implementing long‑term solutions
• Supporting equipment improvements and preventative maintenance programs
• Working closely with production teams to maintain output and equipment reliability
• Following all site safety procedures and maintenance standards

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• A recognised Mechanical Trade qualification
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter in manufacturing, FMCG or food production
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding and breakdown maintenance skills
• Experience carrying out preventative maintenance on industrial machinery
• A proactive approach to problem‑solving and equipment reliability
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• The ability to work independently while contributing to a wider maintenance team
