Job summary

Boortmalt Australia invites applications for a Maintenance Fitter based at the Minto, NSW plant. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for mechanical servicing, preventative maintenance and fault finding to ensure reliable production.

The role covers operating grain handling equipment, completing maintenance worksheets, and supporting safety and food safety standards. A fixed plant maintenance background and relevant licenses are essential.

Qualifications

• Mechanical/Maintenance qualifications and experience in a fixed plant manufacturing environment.
• Forklift licence or willingness to obtain.
• Confined Space or willingness to obtain.
• Elevated Work Platform Licence or willingness to obtain.
• Basic Computer Skills.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Safety conscious.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical servicing of equipment at the plant.
• Preventative maintenance and servicing of production equipment with fault finding.
• Maintain machinery including repair and replacement of parts.
• Complete preventative and reactive maintenance worksheets.
• Attend breakdowns out of hours on a rotational basis.
• Adhere to safety, food safety and quality processes and procedures.
• Work on grain handling equipment specific to malt manufacturing.

An opportunity has arisen for a suitable candidate to join the Boortmalt Australia team as aMaintenance Fitter. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based at our plant in Minto, NSW.

As an integral member of the Maintenance team, you will betrained to ensure that all plant, machinery and infrastructure operated byBoortmaltis maintained todeliver optimal operational reliability, performance and safety.

As Maintenance Fitter, this role will eventually see you:

• Taking responsibility for mechanical servicing of equipment at the plant
• Conducting preventative maintenance and servicing of all production equipment whilst also exercising fault finding
• Maintaining all machinery which includes repair and replacement of production machinery parts
• Completing preventative maintenance and reactive worksheets from Maintenance Scheduling Program
• Attending breakdowns when required out of hours on a rotational basis;
• Adhering to work and safety instruction and take an active role in contributing to building a safety culture;
• Adhering to processes and procedures, and directions in relation to food safety and quality management.
• Working on grain handling equipment such as drag and belt conveyors, blowers, pumps, helical bevel gearboxes and equipment specific to malt manufacturing.
