Job summary

GrainCorp is seeking a permanent, trade qualified Mechanical Fitter to join our Mackay, QLD team. This hands-on role involves maintaining fixed and mobile plant, with occasional travel to nearby sites and participation in an on-call roster to support operations.

You will fault-find, repair, and maintain mechanical systems, while documenting maintenance activities in SAP and ensuring compliance with site safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Attend to equipment breakdowns and document repairs.
• Prepare maintenance reports and maintain SAP records for compliance.
• Work across fixed and mobile plant and be available for on-call roster when required.

About the role

GrainCorp is seeking a permanent, trade qualified Mechanical Fitter to join our team based in Mackay, QLD, with travel to surrounding sites if required. This is a hands on role suited to a safety focused mechanical professional who enjoys variety, problem solving and working across both fixed and mobile plant and equipment. This position also requires participation in an on call roster from time to time to support operational requirements.

Specifically, you'll be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance tasks including:

• Fault finding and repairs to mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems,
• Attending to equipment failure or breakdowns as they may occur,
• Preparing and submitting maintenance reports as requested,
• Record keeping using our SAP Maintenance platform for compliance.

About your experience

Our ideal candidate has a relevant trade certificate in mechanical, fitting and turning, boiler maker or similar. You will have proven fault finding capabilities and be proactive and safety focused. Computer literate, self motivated and reliable, you'll have solid time management abilities and a high standard of communication. The role requires the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces; relevant certifications are highly desirable.
