Job summary

Boortmalt is hiring a Production Technician for its Sydney malting site in Minto. This full-time role reports to the Production Manager and involves rotating through all malt production steps, maintaining hygiene, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The successful candidate will have at least 1 year of relevant experience, basic computer skills, and a willingness to work a 12-hour, rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in Food, Beverage or Manufacturing.
• Technical, dairy or science qualifications desirable but not essential.
• Experience operating manufacturing equipment.
• Desirable experience with continuous improvement principles.
• Excellent interpersonal English communication skills.
• Adaptable and able to contribute positively to the team environment.
• Physically fit to participate in site activities.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor process conditions to achieve malting objectives; rotate through all malt production and hygiene activities and report breakdowns to Maintenance.
• Identify opportunities for energy efficiencies and monitor energy use per targets.
• Ensure safety of self and others; promote EH&S in daily operations.
• Develop and follow risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
• Follow environment-related standards (ISO 14001) and HACCP/quality systems (FSSC 22000, etc.).
• Contribute to achieving targets within budget; participate in daily hygiene activities.
• Adhere to processes and directions related to food safety and quality management.
• Join a rotating 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off roster with 12-hour shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
