Job summary

Packaging Technics is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic maintenance fitter to join our service team responsible for field maintenance, repairs and customer support of packaging equipment in Sydney. You will be trained to provide maintenance of large-scale machines and will represent Packaging Technics on customer sites across Australia and New Zealand.

The role requires a trade or diploma with at least 5 years of relevant experience, strong fault-finding in mechanical and electrical domains,

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance experience in a production environment.
• Ability to read manuals, electrical diagrams, drawings and interpret instructions.

Role and Responsibilities: Electrical / Maintenance Fitter / Technician.

Packaging Technics is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic maintenance fitter. The successful applicant will be part of our service team responsible for field maintenance, repairs, and customer support of packaging equipment. The applicant must be reliable, organised, trustworthy, a good communicator and prepared to work in a fast-paced environment. The applicant will be representing Packaging Technics on a customer site, maintaining the latest range of Italian packaging technology. Our automated 3D box-making and packaging equipment is the market leader, and we work with all the major online retail companies in Australia.

The position is full-time, day shift (with some overtime and occasional weekend work required). The successful applicant will be employed in electrical /mechanical trades, joining our service team.

This position is Sydney-based. Our customers are mainly located in the southwestern and western suburbs.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be trained to provide maintenance and support of large-scale packaging machines.

The Responsibilities of the Job/ Role

Using your trade experience, you will:

• Perform preventative maintenance service routines.
• Diagnose and rectify machine faults.
• Perform mechanical and electrical disassembly and assembly.
• Machine installations and relocations.
• Maintain accurate records associated with services.

Experience and Skills Required:

• Trade or diploma with at least 5 years of relevant work experience
• Mechanical / Electrical repair and maintenance experience in a production environment
• Ability to read manuals, electrical diagrams, drawings and interpret a variety of instructions whether written, oral or diagram form.
• Understanding, knowledge, and experience with production/packaging machinery
• Understanding of automated machinery and ability to work with HMI's
• Experience with Rockwell, Allen Bradley PLC programmes, drives and motors.
• Knowledge of world-leading brands - Festo, Sick, Data Logic, Telemecanique, Nordson.
• Strong fault-finding skills - both mechanical and electrical.
• Ability to work independently
• PC literate - good with reporting skills using Word and Excel format.
• A willingness to learn and the drive to become a perfectionist
• Forklift License - Advantage, but not essential.
• White Card - Advantage, but not essential.
