Job summary

Yancoal MTW is seeking enthusiastic Mechanical and Electrical Maintainers to join the Mount Thorley Warkworth team in New South Wales. You will maintain a diverse OEM fleet and contribute to safety and productivity in a Tier 1 mining operation.

Based at Mount Thorley Warkworth, you will perform planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and rebuilds across truck, field and mobile equipment, on a rotating 4/5 roster in a large, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Plant/Heavy Machinery diagnostic and maintenance skills.
• High voltage electrical trade competency.
• Experience in heavy industry maintenance environments.

Responsibilities

• Execute planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and rebuilds on a range of equipment.
• Work on OEM fleets including Komatsu, Cat, Hitachi, NHL Trucks, plus support plant equipment.
• Contribute to productivity and continuous improvement in truck, field and mobile equipment maintenance.
• Operate on a rotating 4/5 lifestyle roster.

Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an open cut mine that provides the opportunity to live and work locally. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations. The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the execution of planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and machine rebuilds. These roles are a great opportunity to contribute to productivity and continuous improvement initiatives in Truck, Field and Mobile equipment maintenance areas of our business.

You will be working on a range of OEM fleet including Komatsu, Cat, Hitachi and NHL Trucks as well as Water Carts, Graders, Track Dozer, Scrapers, Service Trucks, Letourneau Loaders, Liebherr & Hitachi Excavators, P&H 4100XPC Shovels, Draglines and Drills whilst working whilst working the rotating 4/5 lifestyle roster.

To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes:

Essential Criteria

• Plant Mechanic Trade Qualification, High Voltage Electrical Trade or equivalent
• Proven Heavy Industry experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven ability to work safely in a team environment
• Proven skill in diagnostic problem solving across the Truck, Field and Mobile fleet
• Demonstrated ability to produce high quality of work
• Ability to problem solve technical issues quickly and efficiently

Desirable criteria

• SAP experience
• Previous OEM Experience
• High Voltage Switching
• Industry relevant qualifications (high risk tickets)
• Knowledge of planning / scheduling and risk assessment process
