Job summary

HMG Hardchrome is seeking an experienced, trade-qualified Fitter/Machinist for a permanent Machine Shop Leading Hand role in our Production Department (Large Line). Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will provide hands-on leadership on the shop floor, support the team, and help deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality production outcomes in a busy workshop.

To succeed you need an Australian recognised trade qualification, proven workshop experience, and prior Leading Hand or

Australian recognised trade qualification as Fitter/Machinist.
Proven experience in a workshop/manufacturing environment.
Experience Leading Hand or supervisory role.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on leadership and direction to production employees.
Coordinate daily workflow to meet production targets and deadlines.
Promote and maintain safe work practices and compliance with site procedures.
Monitor job progress, workflow efficiency, and quality of completed work.
Assist with problem-solving and elevate issues when required.
Foster a positive, accountable, and productive team culture.
Liaise closely with the Production Supervisor and workshop teams to ensure smooth operations.
