Job summary

HMG Hardchrome is seeking applications from experienced, trade-qualified Fitter/Machinists for a permanent Machine Shop Leading Hand role within our Production Department (Large Line) in Brisbane. You will provide day‑to‑day leadership, coordinate floor workflow, uphold safety, and ensure production targets and quality are met in a busy workshop.

This hands-on leadership role reports to the Production Supervisor, offering a clear path to step into a key leadership position within production.

Qualifications

• Australian recognised trade qualification as Fitter/Machinist.
• Proven experience in a workshop/manufacturing environment.
• Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of production processes and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on leadership and direction to production employees.
• Coordinate daily workflow to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Promote and maintain safe work practices and compliance with site procedures.
• Monitor job progress, workflow efficiency, and quality of completed work.
• Assist with problem solving and escalate issues when required.
• Foster a positive, accountable, and productive team culture.
• Liaise with the Production Supervisor and workshop teams to ensure smooth operations.
