Job summary

Visy, a leading Australian packaging and plastics manufacturer, is seeking motivated Machine Operators for its Heathwood plastics facility in Brisbane. You will operate production machinery, conduct quality inspections, and support maintenance to ensure safe, efficient output of plastic packaging products.

Role involves 12-hour rotating shifts (day/night) with opportunities for day shifts. Prior plastics or packaging experience is advantageous; forklift licence is a plus.

About the Role

As a Machine Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient production of quality plastic packaging products.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating, monitoring, and adjusting production machinery
• Conducting quality inspections and checks on finished products
• Performing machine changeovers and basic troubleshooting
• Maintaining production and quality records
• Ensuring housekeeping and safety standards are met
• Working collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to achieve targets

Roster Information

• Rotating 12-hour shifts.
• Mixture of day and night shifts.
• Some opportunities for day-shift-only roles.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing or production environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• A commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliability and a strong work ethic

A forklift licence and previous plastics or packaging manufacturing experience will be highly regarded but are not essential.
