Job summary

Rapid Plas is seeking a motivated Machine Operator to run poly pipe extrusion lines, ensuring products meet specifications and production targets. You will contribute to a safety-first, quality-driven manufacturing culture in a dynamic team.

The role involves setup, start-ups, and changeovers, with a focus on data recording, quality checks, and proactive problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Forklift experience is a plus and shift work may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating extrusion machinery in a manufacturing setting.
• Prefer PE/HDPE pipe production knowledge.
• Strong mechanical problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with safety focus.
• Forklift licence preferred.
• Willingness to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor poly pipe extrusion machinery.
• Maintain product quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and testing.
• Troubleshoot process and machine issues to minimise downtime.
• Record production and quality data accurately.

About The Role

As an Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of poly pipe extrusion lines, ensuring products are manufactured to specification while meeting production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor poly pipe extrusion machinery
• Maintain consistent product quality and dimensional accuracy
• Conduct regular quality inspections and testing
• Troubleshoot process and machine issues to minimise downtime
• Complete machine start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers
• Accurately record production and quality data
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety and quality standards
• Assist with routine maintenance and housekeeping activities
• Work collaboratively within a team-focused manufacturing environment

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience machine operating
• Experience in polyethylene (PE) or HDPE pipe manufacturing highly regarded
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices
• Forklift licence preferred
• Ability to work shift work if required
