Job summary

RAPID PLAS is seeking an Extruder Operator to safely run poly pipe extrusion lines, ensuring products meet specifications and production targets with a focus on quality and safety.

You will operate and monitor extrusion machinery, conduct quality checks, and record data while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. The role supports a team-based manufacturing culture with opportunities for training and career development.

Qualifications

• Experience operating extrusion equipment in plastics industry.
• Experience in PE/HDPE pipe manufacturing preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
• Forklift licence preferred.
• Ability to work shift work if required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor poly pipe extrusion machinery.
• Maintain consistent product quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and testing.
• Troubleshoot process and machine issues to minimise downtime.
• Complete machine start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers.
• Accurately record production and quality data.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety and quality standards.
• Assist with routine maintenance and housekeeping activities.
• Work collaboratively within a team-focused manufacturing environment.

About The Role

As an Extruder Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of poly pipe extrusion lines, ensuring products are manufactured to specification while meeting production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor poly pipe extrusion machinery
• Maintain consistent product quality and dimensional accuracy

Skills and Experiences:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience operating extrusion equipment within the plastics industry
• Experience in polyethylene (PE) or HDPE pipe manufacturing highly regarded
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices
• Forklift licence preferred
• Ability to work shift work if required
