Job summary

Mitchell Plastic Welding based in Castle Forbes Bay undertakes HDPE welding and fabrication across southern Tasmania, with sites from the CFB factory to Strahan, Midlands and Launceston. You will perform extrusion, electrofusion and butt-welding, contribute to rotomoulding and workshop fabrication, and work in varied outdoor conditions.

The role requires qualified HDPE welding experience, a safety-focused approach, and the ability to liaise with customers while representing MPW.

Qualifications

• Qualified and experienced poly/HDPE welder.
• Able to support less experienced workers.
• Liaise with customers and MPW representatives.
• HDPE butt welding with McElroy TracStar & data logging experience.
• Construction industry white card is required.
• C class licence; truck classes advantageous.
• Willing to undergo pre-employment drug & alcohol screening and police checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform extrusion, electrofusion and butt-welding as required for project scope.
• Carry out plastic fabrication in a workshop environment.
• Laboring for construction projects and rotomoulding department tasks.
• Work outdoors across varying weather conditions.
• Apply creative thinking and problem solving to project needs.

• MPW is seeking an experienced and qualified poly/HDPE welding all-rounder
• Based in Castle Forbes Bay, with work locations varying between the CFB factory, Huon Valley, broader southern Tasmania projects, and some distant works (Strahan, Midlands, Launceston etc.) requiring staying away from home
• Extrusion, electrofusion and buttwelding depending on scope of works for projects
• Plastic fabrications in a workshop environment
• Labouring for construction projects and our rotomoulding department
• Working in a range of outdoor conditions, rain, hail or shine
• Creative thinking and problem solving
